I’ve mentioned before that there might be a mortgage war at the moment, with a lot of the main buy to let lenders releasing low rate, buy to let mortgage products, or products with special terms, or both.
Whether that constitutes a mortgage war or not, I don’t know, but it means there are some very competitive deals out there at the moment.
Here is another example. One of my favourite mortgage lenders has a 2 year and 5 year fixed rate product for buy to lets, HMOs or MUBs.
Not sure what a MUB is? Well, I explain in the video.
Needless to say the rates are very competitive, and there are incentives like cash backs and free valuations.

So why don’t I just tell you who the lenders are so you can go direct?
As I’ve said before, most lenders require you to go through an intermediary. They know that left to our own devices we’ll make bad choices, because we don’t have the in-depth knowledge of the lending market that a good broker has.
And that’s going to cause trouble for us and for them.
Now, to be honest, I don’t care if you use my broker or not, just so long as you use a GOOD broker, because not all brokers are the same. And some are better, even much better, than others.
And for full transparency, if you do use my broker, I will get a small commission. As far as I know this doesn’t affect you, as he doesn’t charge you more because of that, and I only share with him a little bit of what he gets anyway.
The most important thing, as far as I am concerned, is that he knows what he is doing and he understands WHAT INVESTORS NEED.
Not all brokers do.
