Peter Jones
Ex-Chartered Surveyor, author, buy to let investor and property renovator.
Peter Jones has been involved in property for over 45 years. He started out as a Chartered Surveyor, qualifying in 1983 before becoming a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1992.
By the age of 35, Peter was a Salaried Partner in a respected firm of Chartered Surveyors and was managing partner of their West End of London office. Then the recession of the 1990s arrived, commercial property became rather less fashionable, and Peter found himself redundant. Always character-building when viewed from a safe distance.
With no regular income, no savings, and a young family to support, Peter borrowed some money from a relative and bought a house to refurbish and sell on. That was the start of his own property business.
Since then he has built a substantial buy to let portfolio, bought and renovated many properties, and written a number of property books, workshops and training programmes for investors who want to understand property properly rather than just hope for the best.

Peter’s first property book, An Insider’s Guide to Successful Property Investing, was first published in 2000 and was one of the early UK books written specifically for what we’d now call buy to let investors.
He has also written titles including 63 Common Defects in Investment Property and How to Spot Them, The Successful Property Renovator’s Workshop, and The Successful Property Investor’s Strategy Workshop.
Over the years Peter has written for Property Investor News, Property Auction News and Hot Property Alert, and has contributed to a number of property websites and publications.
